Two Local Hangouts to Check Out with the Guys
Bakersfield has many popular spots for men. Here are two that represent opposite ends of the imbibing spectrum. Temblor Brewing Company is Bakersfield’s top brewpub. It offers many in-house brewed craft beers, a lively crowd and great food. The Old-Fashioned Social Drinkery is dark and moody and offers only craft cocktails and beers. It’s a throwback to a city bar. Where you should go depends on your mood. If you have a big group of friends, Temblor may be your best pick. If you want a more intimate environment, try The Old-Fashioned Social Drinkery, but know that they don’t offer food.

The Old Fashioned Social Drinkery
3621 California Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93309
Open 2 p.m. to midnight
It’s a throwback to a dark and “moody” city bar that makes its craft drinks one cocktail at a time. A great place to socialize and unwind with copious soft seating. There are no TVs or annoying club music, just unobtrusive background music and dim lighting. It’s great as a before or after dinner spot—or as a place to meet up with friends for a few pops. No food served.
