Master Hair Stylist and Salon Owner
It takes many years to achieve a level of competency that can only be described as mastery. After a lifetime of styling, coloring and cutting the hair of many of Bakersfield’s residents, Mark Lamas doesn’t rest on his laurels. Instead, he continues to learn new techniques, new chemical treatments and processes and new trends. Mark travels three times a year to New York to Redken headquarters. He adores his trips and is just as passionate as he was when he first began, some 30 years ago.
His Inspiration: Knowing the Unknown
Mark says what he loves most about Redken is their unique training methodology. Paula Kent and Jheri Redding, a chemist, founded Redken in California in 1960. After an earthquake in 1994, the company relocated to New York. The company was an early adopter of a science and business philosophy. The company devised unique and effective training for stylists that broke down techniques step by step, enabling full understanding of a process that would achieve the most successful result.
Hairstyles and Fashion
Hairstyles follow fashion trends. Looks created for the runway of leading designers soon find their way into the stylist’s chair. Mark says that many of the looks created for the runway are not suitable for real life or are not practical for Bakersfield’s climate. But he finds inspiration can be gained and interpreted for his clientele here. Some clients have a signature style that they tweak from time to time. Others want a new look every season.
Warm and Welcoming
While he has a diverse clientele, Mark wants everyone to feel at ease, comfortable and confident. He and his team of stylists are excited to help you achieve a new look or just a better you. Panache is a Redken Elite Salon and carries Pureology Serious Color Care products.
